This session was a big help, i now feel more sorted with my decisions regarding my interests and my direction for the third year.
10 Things i WANT to get out of the third year...
1. A good degree.
2. A good dissertation grade.
3. To develop my illustration skills.
4. More illustration work for my portfolio
5. To have a professional portfolio that represents my interests.
6. To be interested in the work i produce.
7. To put my skills to into practice.
8. To have more contacts in the design/craft areas I'm interested in.
9. To get my work into the public more.
10. To organise my time effectively so i can have a more balanced life.
10 things i NEED to get out of the third year...
1. An online presence, to make my work more accessible.
2. A solid, consistent brand and identity that people associate with my work and my designs.
3. More work experience in my area of expertise (craft based design) to develop my skills and portfolio.
4. A professional portfolio that is organised and can be sent printed or digital at any needed time.
5. More contacts in my area of interest, to help with skill development and professional issues (wholesale, pricing, packaging and promotional issues)
6. To develop my illustration skills to a standard where i can produce imagery to tight deadlines and specifics.
7. To develop my presentation skills to a level where i feel confident addressing a client and explaining my designs.
8. To develop my software skills so i can produce work to a higher standard within a shorter timescale.
9. To organise my time more efficiently.
10. To complete all work to a high standard so that i can have a wide variety of work to choose from for my portfolio.

* Actual working products with my designs on, not just mock ups.

* Finishing skills, as these are very important when creating handmade objects.

* Handmade bookbinding styles and skills, which will help me produce small publications to a professional standard.

* Communication with designers, clients and customers as this will make me more confident when presenting work and ideas.
